Administrative Collaboration: Is It Right for You?

BoardSource recently announced a new initiative focused on supporting nonprofit boards as they explore the possibility of collaborating with other organizations to advance their missions. The Power of Possibility: Exploring Greater Impact through Strategic Partnerships campaign encourages nonprofit leaders to think about going beyond their organizational boundaries to do together what they may not be able to do alone.

In support of the campaign, this issue of the Spark! features the experience of three cultural organizations that embarked on an administrative collaboration ten years ago. They have translated their experiences — both the highs and the lows — into lessons learned that will benefit organizations exploring an administrative collaboration — a type of strategic partnership that has made it possible for many organizations to realize financial savings and maximize efficiencies while not making any changes to their corporate structures.
